Sometimes it's a Bust

Not like the sculptural kind but as in the disappointment kind.

I guess I should have expected that not all FiftyTwo Firsts would be winners.

Don’t get me wrong, cruising the afternoon waters of English Bay, on one of the most magnificent autumn days of the year isn’t the worst hardship in the world to endure. Add a long-overdue catch-up with an old friend, and the disappointment of our “high tea” service was somewhat muted.

I mean, the concept was a good  one. “High Tea on the High Seas”! But execution…eech… somewhat lacking. Without getting into the details, the staff was uninterested and borderline rude, the treats were kinda yuck, and the ambiance was a bit dull...yes, even for a tea party. Oh and the price tag….!!!!

I mean the guy below directing the safety demonstration to a group of seniors and mother daughter types delivered his message  in cross somewhat between irritation, condesention and repugnance masquerading as humour...

This is only acceptable from one person I know. A certain special someone from my last team who I adore and shall remain nameless.  But all bets welcome!

Regardless, it was a great afternoon out. Fortune was in our favour and so, I would like to refocus and once again and point out the highlights:

On deck, outside, on the sea.
Warm sun, fresh breeze.
Pot of tea.
Great friend.
Cathartic conversation.
Magnificent mountains, colourful tress, green grass, blue skies, sparkling boats.
