What goes up and down and all around in a whirl of black lycra? Yours truly tackling a pole. Yes, pole "dancing".
I know I'm late to the party, that's it's been around for years. But I pretty much avoided it like the plague up until now. I mean come on! I don't genetally hit the "cute girl at the gym" mark. Never mind sexafying my workout...with a whole room of people...and mirrors. Lots of mirrors.
But in all honesty.... SUPER FUN! Spinning and strutting and sweating (surprisingly) and once again appreciating what my body can do! With my injuries forever whispering in my ear, like that bad little dude on your shoulder, I was properly fearful going into it.
But with a good sport of a friend at my side, we tackled Tantra Fitness. Although the intro class was a tad shorter than I had expected, we definitely learned enough moves to get a good flavour of it. And I liked it!
You quickly forget the other people in the room as you twirl about. It really made me feel sexy, actually. Not because I necessarily loved every image of myself in the mirror but because of how strong I actually felt (it is hard work!) and how the pole lets your body move in these amazing new ways. Add a vivid imagination and it was fun, fun, fun! Oh and did I mention, FUN! Fuuuuuuuuuuuun! Fun.
