Kitty on the Line

I always knew my friends were clever and creative, but it wasn't until I began to tap into their extended circle that the magic really revealed itself!

At a birthday party last week, I was explaining 52 Firsts and my conundrum for an upcoming week's activity  Well, it was like tugging on the end of a big ball of rainbow yarn...the ideas just kept coming!

There was talk of graffiti lessons and traditional German folk dancing (lederhosen included!), Sumo wrestling and bee keeping. But what really jumped out at me... movie making!

Assuming you can't contain yourself, here it is!

Making a YouTube video would be a perfect way to turn our surf trip to Tofino, where the surfing itself wouldn't be a first, into a 52 First of cinematographic genius!

With less than a week to prepare for movie making magic, the party-goers rallied together to get me the equipment and basic instruction I needed.

The amazing team from Foodists.ca sat me down and went over movie making 101: Intent. Then, apply this simple formula: opening, action, building, climax (tee hee), denouement, the end.

Ok! Excited! Now time to recruit the cast! Not sure that every gal destined for our girls weekend away would be open to the idea, I delicately broached the idea with a "...I'm making a movie. You in or out?". Answer: IN!!!!

The creativity never stopped flowing. Amazing set of girls on a hilarious adventure through the arctic waters of the Pacific Coast!

And action.....!

This first taught me the whole dang process! Figuring out equipment and rigging to setting the vision, directing, acting and never mind editing and publishing! Super fun, if not super involved! But I loved every second of it and want to deeply thank all those who contributed! Great minds...!

Let the good times roll!
